Al-Rawḍah al-Firdawsiyyah wa’l-Ḥaḍrah al-Qudsiyyah by Muḥammad b. Aḥmad b. Amīn al- Āqshaharī (739 A.H./1338 A.D.)
The book not only documents the history of the city of Madīnah, including that of the Prophet’s mosque, but it is also a book for pilgrims. It records the biographies and lineage of the peoples of the time. The book begins with a list of the traditions followed with respect to visiting the Prophets mosque and the manner in which such a visit is performed. The larger more important section of the book, al-Rawḍa, holds details of biographies of those who passed away in the city and were buried in the al-Baqīʿ cemetery. Also included in the book are sections on the life of the Prophet, biographies of his forefathers, children, the Mothers of the Believers, the Caliphs and the ten companions who were promised the Paradise.
