‘Our Library’ databank / collection
The ‘Al-Furqan Digital Library’ also includes the online catalogue of the holdings of the Al-Furqan’s physical Library. It is an electronic bibliographic database which describes the Library items, and the way of accessing them.
The Library Collection represents a cornerstone reference collection on major research areas, including Islamic manuscripts. The major subjects covered are: Qur’anic studies, Hadith, Islamic jurisprudence, Islamic theology, philosophy, science, medicine, history, geography, art and architecture, and literature; all of them written in the major Islamic languages, including Arabic, Persian, Turkish, Urdu, Swahili, Gujarati, as well as European languages and Russian. The Library collection also includes multilingual dictionaries, Arabic biographical dictionaries and encyclopaedias, covering the classical period to the present time.
To date, the Library has collected over 11,000 titles in more than 16,000 volumes, on various subjects. Moreover, the Library's collections include almost 1,800 printed Islamic manuscript catalogues in around 2,500 volumes, from over 70 countries.
The library’s holdings are arranged and organised according to the Library of Congress Classification (LCC) for ease of use, while its collection of catalogues of Islamic manuscripts is classified by country.

| Total number of Islamic MSS: | 7,350 (Arabic; Persian; Turkish), plus 8,138 microfilms and photocopies. |
| Description of Collection: | The library is housed in a special secure building on the campus of the University, formerly known as Jamiʿat Riyaḍ (Riyadh University). It has the most modern facilities, and is fully air-conditioned and ventilated. Recently the library (400 MSS) of Professor Muḥammad ʿAbd al-Raḥman al-ʿAbikan, one of the famous private libraries in the city of al-Riyaḍ, was donated to the University Library. The MSS are well looked after. They cover various subjects: Qurʾan, tafsir and related sciences, Ḥadith and related sciences, Islamic jurisprudence, doctrines, Arabic language and literature, criticism, Islamic art, logic, philosophy, medicine, alchemy, arithmetic, astronomy, history, biography, geography. There are a number of rare MSS including autograph copies. See Al-juhūd al-rāmīya ilá tajmīʿ wa-ḥimayat wa-nashr al-makhṭūṭāt bi-'l-Mamlaka al-ʿArabīya al-Saʿūdīya.Iʿdād Wafd al-Mamlaka.Al-Mawrid 5 i, 1396/1976, pp. 49–51. Noteworthy items include: i) Naqd ʿalá Kitab Ṭabaqat al-asmaʾ al-mufrada li-l-Burdiji by Ḥusayn ibn Aḥmad ibn ʿAbd Allah al-Ṣayrafi, with a statement of audition dated 634 AH; ii) Nafaḥat al-ʿanbar bi-fuḍalaʾ wa-aʿyan al-Yaman alladhin fi 'l-qarn al-thani ʿashar by Ibrahim ibn ʿAbd Allah ibn Ismaʿil al-Ḥuti al-Ḥusayni, dated 1352 AH (from the ʿAbikan collection); iii) Riḥlat Ibn al-Ḥaymi ilá 'l-Ḥabasha by Sharaf al-Din al-Ḥasan ibn Aḥmad al-Ḥaymi, dated 1072 AH (from the ʿAbikan collection). |
