“Le Manuscrit autographe d'al-Mawāʿiẓ wa al-Iʿtibār fī Dhikr al-Khiṭaṭ wa al-Āthār de Taqī al-Dīn Aḥmad b. ʿAlī b. ʿAbd al-Qādir al-Maqrīzī (766-845 A.H./1325-1441 A.D.)” is a copy of the manuscript written by the author (al-Maqrīzī) himself and published by Al-Furqān as a faxsimile copy in one volume. This book is considered one of the most important reference works on the history and geography of Egypt. It provides a compressive overview on the history of Egypt, as well as the establishment and development of Cairo from the time of the Islamic conquests of Egypt to the fifteenth century A.D. (ninth century A.H.). This book has been edited by Prof. Dr. Ayman Fuad Sayyid and was published in six volumes by Al-Furqān Islamic Heritage Foundation.
